I was introduced to Robert Hayden in 1991 when I was employed to complete structural computations for a Garage / Workshop he was constructing at 13 Waterman Drive, Wantirna. Throughout my association with Robert on this job I was amazed in the manner he had devised a design for this garage and his resourcefulness in selecting materials to bring the job to completion.

Upon my organisation rapidly growing in the early 90's, I have employed Robert on a sub-contract consultancy basis, up until February 1996.

Duties Robert has undertaken:

• Negotiated prices and terms with suppliers and sub-contractors for 'Lump Sum' building contracts.
• Completing cost comparisons with probable use of different building materials.
• Chairing Site Meetings and various other meetings with Original Architects and clients participating in written correspondence of various forms.
• Problem solving in both technical impossibilities and design issues.
• Modifying Works Program Schedules, supervising and instructing said personnel.
• Attending to variations that had arisen
• Overviewing legal documentation such as proposals and contracts.

In 2001 Robert employed Kukas Bros. to complete specific structural works on a very substantial renovation that he was undertaking. Again, his attention to detail and total thoroughness on every aspect of the job was second to none, and would certainly put many builders / developers to shame. Apart from the heavy floor and roof framing works which we assisted with, every other aspect of the construction was completed by Robert to a standard of workmanship that cannot be surpassed.

Kukas Brothers had the privilege of again working with Robert Hayden on the construction of a multi million dollar private home which we jointly constructed in Melbourne. Robert produced the initial conceptual drawings and was contracted by the owner as Project Manager.

Throughout my association with Robert I found that he holds excellent leadership qualities, with an ability to carry through instructions with confidence. He displays a sound understanding of technical issues which I believe arrived from the research he undertakes so intensely. Robert has an eye for detail and displays a pedantic quality, which requests for a high level of workmanship to all duties he answerable to. I found he has an ability to solve any problem put forward to him and will persist until a satisfactory solution has evolved and in addition, volunteer to undertake and help solve additional problems. Robert has proven to be punctual, reliable, honest and fair and I believe an extremely loyal employee for mine and any other organisation. His intelligence and ability to learn and understand technical issue will enable Robert to fulfil many positions in the work place.
